This is the proposed piano piece for our music. I decided to change it to this one as the previous one had a fast beat that didn't flow with the opening sequence of our film.

Brainstorming
These are some of the words that sprung to mind whilst thinking about the production of our film Beth Marwolaeth. I have been jotting down some words that are really powerful that could be made into lyrics for our music piece.
Editing Footage
Today I came into school during the half term to edit our film. After we filmed at Becky's house we needed to import our footage. We need to start to put all our footage together and get the films opening sequence under way. We feel confident with how its going but we need to start to wrap up all our ideas and produce our opening sequence and the final piece.

Filming at Becky's
Today during our media lesson we went to Becky's house to film. We printed the stalker photographs of Beth for the character Dave. We set up the scene in the back garden with the burning photos. We think this was really effective because one shot focused right in on the pictures and we watch as they set alight. Then the shot pans out to reveal the full burst of flames then it focuses up from Dave's legs onto his face. We also filmed the scene where Alice is in her bedroom writing in her diary. We were going to film the scene where Jack is cleaning the shirt but we needed to experiment with making fake blood first to make it look effective. Overall I feel that it was a really productive session.
Here are some stills of our footage.

Production Company Ideas/Development
At this stage we were just coming with a few ideas for our Production Company name. We really like the idea of our Production Company to be called Unique Productions. We like this because having looked at all the other Production Names they all seem to be very unique and different. We feel that this could work. We don't want any thing too long or silly. Having looked at the examples we can see they limit the name to 1/2 words. So that its short and snappy and to the point. We don't want any thing that will distract from our opening scene either. For example we can't have our film open with Pink Pony Productions then lead into the establishing shot of Beth, dead. This would not work as there would be to much of a contrast and would not be suitable for our film.
Another idea we had was for the Production Company to be called " Debt Production" this was inspired by the first letters of our names so :- DEBT - Dan Emily Becky Tolga. We think that this could be effective as it includeds all of us as a whole group.
15th Feb - Real Filming
Today after school Becky, Tolga, Dan, and Myself went to High Broom Woods to film the opening scene for our film, where Beth Marwolaeth is found dead on the river bank. Before we left I got changed into my costume/clothing for the part of Beth. This was a little blue and white summery dress and black ripped tights and black dolly shoes. We felt that the summery dress contrasted the unpleasant surrounding of her body. We took the camera and tripod and set up in our desired location. Becky helped me in position of the river bed and made sure that all the little details were in place; hair in the water, dress a little wet, and that I was muddy and scruffy. Whilst filming today it was raining and we really gained from this as it made the atmosphere really dull and bleak which gave our shots more mood. I really enjoyed today’s filming session because it was a really good experience. I really enjoy playing the role of Beth, as I attend a Musical theatre group and we spend much of our time improvising and doing shows I am always willing to try new ideas.
So I thought that taking the chance to play Beth was a great experience for me. Being a big fan of horror films and psychological thrillers I have always wanted to play a part within a film. So Today was my chance. I was excited about becoming the Character Beth for our film and simply laying still on the muddy bank. I feel that it went really smoothly and I’m happy that the discussed shots looked effective. We even had a passer-by that commented on what we were doing, they were very interested. At first they didn't realise that I was a real person. They commented on how it looked very good and went on their way.
Here are some stills from our filming session.

Shots After Filming
These pictures were taken after our filming session. They show the Character Beth. She is wet, muddy and her make up is smuged and she has blood shot eyes. Her hair is knotty and damp from the stream. I thought these pictures would be effective becasue they differ from the casting shot of Beth. The casting shot of Beth is of her normally but these pictures show her scruffy as she will appear in the opening scene of the film.

Preparation and Ideas
Today during our media class my group and I went to becky's house to take some shots and try some ideas out as preparation for filming.
As you can see from the pictures we are experimenting for our second location for the shots of the characters Alice, Jack and Dave.
The pictures below are from the scene where Jack is in his bathroom washing the bloody shirt. These are some possible shots that we are planning on taking.
This is the scene where Alice is writing in her diary about her anger for Beth. We like the idea of an over the shoulder shot for this scene. These are the possible shot ideas.

Photographs for our Film
Today Beckie and I went out during our media lesson to take the photographs that will feature in our film.
I really liked this exercise and its really great seeing all our ideas come together. Beckie and I worked hard to suggest ideas and angles to create these pictures with a sense of the "unaware". We discussed different ideas then I would take position and Beckie would capture the picture. We feel that this collection of photos are a really good starting point. We are really happy with how they have turned out. We discussed whether we would take any more. We decided that we will take some more of Beth with friends as the ones that we took today were alone shots. Overall we are happy with the start of this development and enjoyed the exercise.
The idea behind these photographs is that Beth's close friend Dave is her Stalker. Little does Beth know that for two years now she has been watched by Dave in an obsessive manner. He goes to extreme lengths to fulfil his obsession with Beth. He keeps his secret quite and has a huge collection of pictures of Beth which he keeps to himself. The opening sequence will feature Daniel Balaam Playing Dave in his back garden with a bin of these burning pictures. After the death of Beth the pain is too strong for Dave and he has to force himself to let her go and she will no longer be around for him to watch. In his anger and devastation he burns the evidence destroying his stash of creepy pictures in attempt to leave his weird obsession with Beth behind and her memory.
